It entertains and acts as a worthwhile experience, but it doesn’t leave a substantial impression like Scorsese’s more memorable material. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon. Warner, $14.98, 2/13/2007.

85. The Great Depression (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want a concise history of the series’ subject matter, look somewhere other than The Great Depression. While the series provides a lot of interesting facts and observations, it lacks coherence and doesn’t impart a solid history of the Depression ... I wanted to like The Great Depression but I can’t say it did a lot for me other than make me want to

86. Frankenstein [4K UHD] (1931)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It's been 90 years since Frankenstein hit movie screens, and while it may not shock and terrify audiences like it did back then, it remains a very entertaining and compelling film. Starring Boris Karloff, Colin Clive. Universal, $29.98, 10/11/2022.

87. Planes [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will pick Planes as an animated classic, but it provides acceptable family fare. Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I’m not sure I think it’s the classic many make it out to be, Bonnie and Clyde unquestionably is a fine film that has exerted a strong influence over future movie making. It boasts some excellent acting and is a generally solid piece of work ... This becomes a fine representation of the flick. Starring Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway. Warner, $20.97

89. Goon (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its heavy debt to Slap Shot, Goon stands on its own as an enjoyable hockey-related comedy. Yeah, it lacks clear direction much of the time, but it boasts enough charm and humor to make it work. The DVD offers pretty good picture and audio along with a nice little set of supplements. Fans of hard-edged, profane comedies should enjoy this one. Star

90. Tombs of the Blind Dead [Blu-Ray] (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When Tombs of the Blind Dead focuses explicitly on the horror its title implies, the movie fares reasonably well. Unfortunately, the film comes padded with reams of unnecessary detours that make it a perplexing mess. Starring Lone Fleming, Cesar Burner. Synapse, $39.95, 10/24/2023.
