- 111. Hercules: Limited Edition (1997)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hercules seems destined to end up as one of Disney’s semi-forgotten flicks. It’s definitely a lesser effort, but it presents a reasonable amount of fun and entertainment ... Though I like the movie, it’s tough to recommend this lackluster DVD, especially when it comes with a nearly $30 list price. Starring Charlton Heston, Tate Donovan. Disney, $29.99, 1

-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 65 years down the road, The Adventures of Robin Hood remains a fine film. Not only do we see its influence on later flicks, but also it still seems exciting and entertaining. The DVD presents very good picture and sound along with an excellent set of supplements. An enjoyable and likable action picture, I definitely recommend Adventures. Starring Errol F

- 114. Hamlet [Blu-Ray] (1996)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As much as I admire the ambition of this four-hour Hamlet, the end result does little for me. The movie suffers from some over the top performances – primarily our lead – and fails to become an accessible, engaging version of the tale. The Blu-ray boasts very good picture along with decent audio and supplements highlighted by an informative commentary. S

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Stop Making Sense provides a very entertaining and well-structured look at a Talking Heads concert, and the film has rightfully earned its status as a classic of the genre ... I may never become much of a Talking Heads fan, but I really liked SMS; it would make a terrific addition to anyone's collection. Starring Talking Heads. Vivendi Visual, $29.98, 10

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Little Mermaid isn’t as good as some later Disney works, but it seems generally entertaining and compelling. It also deserves a warm spot in the hearts of Disney fans because it helped return the studio’s animated department to prominence. The Blu-ray offers strong picture and audio along with an informative collection of supplements. Fans will embra
