191. Dracula Dead And Loving It (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Dracula Dead and Loving It shows the degradation of Mel Brooks’ talent, as the director displayed virtually none of his prior skill here. A sad footnote to Brooks’ career, Dracula is a dud. Starring Leslie Nielsen, Mel Brooks. Warner, $19.97, 6/29/2004.

192. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As far as action/fantasy movies go, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil proves perfectly watchable. Though it never turns into anything special, it manages to give us moderate entertainment. Starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning. Disney, $39.99, 1/14/2020.

193. Watership Down: Deluxe Edition (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans will definitely want to pursue this 2008 “Deluxe Edition” instead of the original bare-bones effort. While the DE’s extras aren’t extensive, they add some value to the set. The prime attraction of the DE comes from the significant visual improvements, as the new disc offers noticeably stronger picture quality. That makes it a worthwhile “double dip”

194. Jabberwocky (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson Title: Jabberwocky (1977) Studio Line: Columbia TriStar Gadzooks! These be terrible times in the kingdom of Bruno the Questionable! At the darkest hour of the Dark Ages (hey, who turned off the lights?), the dreaded...

195. Rashomon: Criterion Collection (1950)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: More than 50 years after its creation, Rashomon remains an important, influential film – and it’s pretty involving, too. It uses its unusual techniques to draw us into its relative realities. The DVD gives us generally positive picture and audio along with some informative supplements. Criterion provide a nice release for a classic movie. Directed by Aki

196. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever [Blu-Ray] (2022)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Faced with major challenges due to the death of lead actor Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever manages to take on some daring paths. However, it lacks a focused story and its extended running time means that it winds up as moderately enjoyable but too bloated to fully succeed. Starring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o. Disney, $34.99, 2/7/20

197. The Predator [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A glib, gorey attempt to revive the franchise, The Predator lacks excitement. The film tries to skate by via its own sarcasm and violence, but these trends just expose its own hollow core. Starring Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn. Fox, $34.99, 12/18/2018.

198. Secrets Of The Code (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: More of a general statement about religion than a discussion of the issues found in The Da Vinci Code, Secrets of the Code comes as a dull disappointment. It follows a rambling path that never reaches a satisfying conclusion ... This muddled documentary bored me and seems unlikely to offer much substance for Da Vinci Code fans. Narrated by Susan Sarandon

199. Watership Down (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not the classic I remembered from childhood, Watership Down remains a reasonably compelling film. It suffers from the problems that almost automatically occur when one translates a long text into a short movie, and the animation seems fairly weak. However, the flick offers something unique and worthwhile and achieves many of its goals. Written by R

200. Tarzan II (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Occasionally the folks at Disney produce good “direct to video” efforts. Tarzan II isn’t one of them. It works better than many but that’s more of a reflection on the lackluster quality of so many of these releases. Tarzan II remains relentlessly average. Starring Harrison Chad, Brenda Grate. Disney, $29.99, 6/14/2005.
