1. The Animal: Uncut Special Edition (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As I watched The Animal, I thought that it could have been worse than it was. However, it also could have been much better. Laughs occurred very sporadically, and the best I can say is that the experience seemed generally painless. Starring Rob Schneider, Colleen Haskell. Columbia TriStar, $19.95, 2/3/2004.

2. The Hot Chick (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A gimmick flick with a lousy gimmick and lame execution, there’s little to like about The Hot Chick.

3. The Benchwarmers (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans of Adam Sandler’s work will probably dig The Benchwarmers. It doesn’t star the actor, but it sticks with his usual MO as it mixes clever moments with crass ones. This leaves it as terribly erratic and only sporadically amusing. Starring Rob Schneider, David Spade, Jon Heder. Sony Pictures, $28.95, 7/25/2006.

4. Grown Ups [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I didn’t think a film that starred talents like Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James and David Spade could be mediocre, and I was right. Grown Ups isn’t average – it’s thoroughly awful. The Blu-ray provides very good picture, acceptable audio and a few moderately interesting supplements. The Blu-ray brings home the movie in positive manner, but the flic

5. The Lion King: Platinum Edition (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie stands as one of Disney’s finest and contains to impress after almost a decade. The DVD presents excellent picture and sound along with that moderately disappointing but still extensive set of supplements. Disney have produced another “must-have” DVD with this fine release of The Lion King. Disney, $29.99, 10/7/2003.

6. 50 First Dates (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A surprisingly sweet and charming piece, 50 First Dates falters at times, but remains mostly solid. The film melds a few genres fairly smoothly and seems amusing and likable. Starring Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore. Columbia TriStar, $28.95, 6/15/2004.

7. You Don't Mess With The Zohan: Unrated (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Forgive me if I didn’t expect much from Don’t Mess With the Zohan, as a few straight years of poor Adam Sandler movies made me figure he’d lost his skills. Happily, Mess provides a pretty entertaining affair. It’s so zany and over the top that it turns into a witty cartoon come to life ... Sandler fans should dig this amusing effort. Starring Adam Sandle

8. Waking Sleeping Beauty (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Waking Sleeping Beauty, we get a fascinating inside look at the Disney Studios during a period of transition and upheaval. The film feels frank about its subject and covers the topics well. The DVD comes with acceptable picture and audio as well as a good array of supplements. Waking will be of interest to any serious Disney fan. Disney, $29.99, 11/

9. Norm of the North [Blu-ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Persistently ordinary, Norm of the North gives us a mediocre animated adventure. While not without a smidgen of entertainment value, the film seems too disjointed and derivative to succeed. Starring Rob Schneider, Heather Graham. Lionsgate, $34.99, 4/19/2016.

10. The Lion King [Blu-Ray 3D] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I probably would not claim that The Lion King is my all-time favorite Disney animated film, but it resides very high on that list. The movie stands as one of the finest from Disney and contains to impress after 28 years. Starring Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons. Disney, $49.99, 10/4/2011.
