22. Balls Of Fury (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Sometimes when a movie seems better than expected, that acts as a strong endorsement. In the case of Balls of Fury, however, it simply means the film doesn’t completely stink. Balls provides spotty entertainment but doesn’t ever turn into anything terribly satisfying. Starring Dan Fogler, Christopher Walken. Universal, $29.98, 12/18/2007.

23. Road House: Deluxe Edition (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Somehow I managed to avoid Road House for almost 20 years, and I wish I’d kept that streak alive. A relentlessly idiotic spectacle, I can’t even muster “so bad it’s good” pleasure from it ... The iffy picture quality makes this a less than stellar DVD, and the movie itself remains a dog. Starring Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch. MGM, $14.98, 7/18/2006.

24. The Howling: Special Edition (1981)
Reviewed by David Williams: The Howling hasn’t aged real well and for a film that barely lasts 90-minutes, I found myself checking the clock often. The film lives on in remembrance much better than it does in subsequent viewings and I can only recommend a blind purchase of MGM’s well done DVD to hardcore fans only. Starring Dee Wallace, Robert Picardo. MGM, $19.98, 8/26/2003.

25. Point Break: Pure Adrenaline Edition (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Break isn’t good enough for me to urge a “blind buy”, but action buffs might want to give it a rental. Those who already like it will want to grab this new disc – and that goes for folks who already own the original release. The 2006 edition adds new extras and comes with a substantially improved transfer. Starring Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves. Fox, $19.

26. Waiting: Special Edition (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite occasional gags that aptly recreate the experience of restaurant work, most of Waiting… focuses on cheesy toilet humor. There’s a lot of crassness and little actual inspiration ... If you like the movie, this is a good disc, but I can’t recommend it as a blind buy. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris. Artisan, $28.98, 2/7/2006.

27. A Nightmare On Elm Street [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A Nightmare On Elm Street isn't a perfect film, and it's probably not the best horror film ever made. However, it offers possibly the most clever and intriguing theme of any movie in its genre, and despite many flaws, it remains an exciting and provocative little picture. The Blu-ray presents very good picture and audio along with a mix of solid extras.
