11. Blade Runner: The Final Cut [4K UHD] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 35 years, Blade Runner remains a seminal science fiction piece that only seems to improve with additional viewings. The 4K UHD version becomes the strongest rendition of this classic on home video. Starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer. Warner, $41.99, 9/5/2017.

12. Buffy the Vampire Slayer [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its immense genre-busting potential, Buffy the Vampire Slayer never quite hits the mark. While it occasionally entertains, it lacks consistency and doesn’t manage to connect as well as one might hope. Starring Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry. Fox, $19.99, 10/3/2017.

13. Sin City (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With imaginative visuals and a wildly gory setting, Sin City won’t be for everyone. However, folks who like the idea of an exaggerated comic book film noir will likely dig this creative and entertaining effort. Starring Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba. Dimension, $29.99, 8/16/2005.

14. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind [Blu-Ray] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Confessions of a Dangerous Mind boasts an intriguing concept, a great lead performance, and a cast that includes some very big names. Unfortunately, it suffers from “tries too hard” syndrome, and its general lack of coherence makes it only sporadically interesting. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture, audio and supplements, so it’s a good release – to

16. Sin City: Recut, Extended & Unrated (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I recommend this package for pretty much anyone with an interest in Sin City. I advised a rental when I reviewed the movie-only disc since I knew this one would come out before long, so hopefully you skipped a purchase of the original set. If so, definitely snag this excellent edition. Heck, even if you did buy the basic DVD, this one’s worth an upgrade

17. Batman Begins [Blu-Ray] (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the best Batman films, Batman Begins starts a little slowly, but it quickly picks up steam and stands as a very strong effort overall. The Blu-ray offers very good picture along with excellent audio and a nice collection of extras ... I strongly recommend Batman Begins as both a movie and a Blu-ray. This is a fine package for a terrific movie that

18. Sin City: Recut, Extended & Unrated (2005) [Blu-Ray]
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans who already own the prior release of the “Recut, Extended and Unrated” version of Sin City won’t pursue this Blu-Ray edition for its pair of exclusive supplements; only one is actually useful, and even it doesn’t truly impress. However, they will go after this Blu-Ray because it looks really, really good. In terms of film presentation, this is the d

20. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets [4K UHD] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Luc Besson bites off an ambitious sci-fi action flick in the style of his earlier Fifth Element. While Valerian manages some entertainment value, it lacks coherence and becomes too much of a mess to really succeed. Starring Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevigne. Lionsgate, $42.99, 11/21/2017.
