142. Swingers [Blu-Ray] (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Already established as a cult classic, I thought Swingers didn’t quite match up with my expectations. However, it offered a generally amusing and intriguing experience that will probably hold up well to additional viewings. The Blu-ray presented acceptably good picture and sound along with a nice roster of supplements. This became the best release of the

143. Gilda: The Films Of Rita Hayworth Collection (1946)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Rita Hayworth was one of the all-time great bombshells, and she showed why she attained this status via her vivid and exciting performance in 1946's Gilda. The movie offers a lackluster plot but benefits from crisp pacing and solid acting; those elements make the movie worth watching. The DVD provides flawed but generally positive picture and audio along

144. Friday The 13th, Part 3 [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you have the SE DVD, you may want to upgrade to the Blu-ray because its 3D version works better. The visuals remain somewhat off-putting, but I thought they were clearer and less headache inducing. The Blu-ray also includes a few decent extras absent from the DVD. Unfortunately, it still provides the same terrible movie; Blu-ray can’t fix bad filmmaki

146. Whitney [Blu-ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With an amazing wealth of archival footage at its disposal, Whitney occasionally leaps to life. However, it pursues such a “tabloid” path that it lacks perspective and fails to provide a balanced look at its subject. Starring Whitney Houston, Clive Davis. Lionsgate, $24.99, 10/16/2018.

147. Dog Day Afternoon: 40th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1975)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Gritty and blunt, Dog Day Afternoon offers an unusual bank robbery flick. It goes down unexpected paths and benefits from a frank, restrained tone. Starring Al Pacino, John Cazale. Warner, $24.98, 9/21/2015.

148. Phil Collins: A Life Less Ordinary (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ordinary gives us an interesting look at a fairly talented musician, and I recommend it both for fans of Phil Collins as well as those curious to know more about him.

149. Super 8 [4K UHD] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An homage to the classic Spielberg movies of the Seventies and Eighties, Super 8 displays its influences without any sense of its own vision. We get little more than a collection of references to other flicks without much to bring them together in a coherent, involving narrative. Starring Joel Courtney, Elle Fanning. Paramount, $25.99, 5/25/2021.

150. Mad Max [Blu-Ray] (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though undeniably influential, I didn’t think Mad Max offered a terrific film experience. The flick had its moments, and I could definitely see its impact on later movies, but the flick itself seemed decent but unspectacular as a whole. The Blu-ray provided a very strong picture with acceptable sound and a fair though somewhat drab pile of supplements.
