21. Real Genius (1985)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie provided a couple of amusing moments, but otherwise it seemed smug and condescending and left me largely cold.

22. MacGruber [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This may be faint praise, but the surprisingly amusing MacGruber provides one of the more enjoyable Saturday Night Live spin-offs. It’s too crass and too inconsistent, but a good cast helps give it life. The Blu-ray provides acceptable visuals, good audio, and a couple of supplements. While not a comedy classic, MacGruber delivers a crude but amusing fl

23. Heat: Director's Definitive Edition [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Back in 1995, I didn't much care for Heat, but I better appreciate it now. I think it's a fairly involving and effective flick. Starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro. Fox, $14.98, 5/9/2017.

24. Top Gun: 30th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A serious piece of Eighties cheese, Top Gun doesn’t hold up well after 30 years. Granted, I wasn’t wild about it in 1986, but all this time later, it looks even sillier than I recalled. Starring Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis. Paramount, $22.99, 5/3/2016.

25. True Romance: Limited Edition [4K UHD] (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I like the films Quentin Tarantino directs, when another person takes on his material, the results seem less interesting. From Tony Scott, True Romance comes across as too flashy and glossy to succeed. Starring Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette. Arrow, $59.95, 6/28/2022.

27. Heat: Special Edition (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I definitely like Heat, so despite some minor misgivings about the movie’s presentation, I recommend it. Should owners of the prior DVD upgrade to this one? I’d say yes, but only if they’re interested in the extras. I wasn’t any more impressed by the new disc’s visuals or audio when compared with the original, but it added a slew of pretty solid componen

28. Heat [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many people don't see any point to rewatching films that they liked, much less ones that they didn't enjoy, but additional viewings of Heat establish the usefulness of doing so. Initially, I didn't like this film, but now I think it's a fairly involving and effective flick. The Blu-ray offers very good picture and sound plus a generally enjoyable and inf

29. Top Gun: I Love The 80's Edition (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Obviously any fans who already own the 2004 two-disc SE have no reason to buy this one since it simply repackages the earlier set’s first DVD. Top Gun buffs who don’t have the 2004 release should skip this one and get that package instead. Not only does it include an extra disc of supplements, but also it retails for less money! The 2004 SE lists for $12

30. Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut (Special Edition) (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Alexander Revisited – The Final Cut, Oliver Stone should be able to put his baby to bed. The prior versions of the movie were chatty and boring, whereas this edition manages to become fairly entertaining and effective. It’s still a flawed film, but at least this one’s watchable. Starring Colin Farrell, Val Kilmer. Warner, $24.98, 2/27/2007.
