241. Monster: Special Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When it comes to recommendations, I can say that if you want to own a copy of Monster, this is the one to get. Picture and sound remain the same as the other one, but it offers a few more extras. However, if you already have the earlier release, I don’t see a strong reason to “upgrade”. You’d do so solely for the extras, and though they add some nice inf

242. Pathfinder: Unrated (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Maybe Pathfinder deserves some credit as a movie with Vikings, characters we don’t often see on the big screen. However, it does so little right that I find it difficult to heap any praise on it. With its over the top visuals and its dull characters, the movie flops ... This is a high quality release for a dull movie. Starring Karl Urban, Russell Means.

243. The Hills Have Eyes [4K UHD] (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although it represents a significant improvement over his first film, Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes remains only intermittently positive. It offers some intense and intriguing elements but poor acting and cheap production values hinder its success. Written and Directed by Wes Craven. Arrow, $59.95, 11/9/2021.

244. Hancock [Blu-Ray] (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though the film never quite excels, Hancock offers a mostly satisfying take on superheroes. It certainly takes advantage of its intriguing concept, and it does just enough right to make it a nice piece of entertainment. Starring Will Smith, Charlize Theron. Sony, $19.99, 11/25/2008.

245. Toy Story 4 [4K UHD] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: On its own, Toy Story 4 offers an entertaining adventure. However, I can’t help but feel it seems superfluous, as the franchise concluded effectively with Toy Story 3 and didn’t need another chapter. Starring Tom Hanks, Annie Potts. Disney, $39.99, 10/8/2019.

246. Wrong Turn 2: Dead End [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Direct-to-video sequels usually aren’t any good, but Wrong Turn 2: Dead End manages to provide serviceable entertainment – for fans of graphic horror, at least. The movie does nothing to dazzle but it hits the right grotesque notes and provides decent thrills. The Blu-ray gives us erratic but usually good visuals along with positive audio and interesting

247. Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... add to that a tone that often feels preachy and Unprecedented presents an erratic documentary. At its best, the program spotlights the scads of problems and controversies that marred the 2000 election, and it raises many important issues. Unfortunately, it does so with such a partisan viewpoint that it becomes tough to accept the information without

248. My Name Is Bruce (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A parody of a mockery of a spoof, My Name Is Bruce tries too hard to be too many things. It fails as action flick, comedy or anything else it might desire ... This is a generally positive DVD but the movie doesn’t go anywhere. Starring Bruce Campbell. Image Entertainment, $27.98, 2/10/2009.

249. 300 [4k Uhd] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Possibly 2007’s biggest cinematic disappointment, 300 takes an interesting premise and turns the material into laughable schlock. This becomes a terrible piece of overacted, overwrought and over-dramatic action trash. Starring Gerard Butler, Lena Headey. Warner, $29.99, 10/6/2020.

250. Elizabeth [Blu-Ray] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though I expected a dull history lesson, Elizabeth brought home a pretty vivid tale. It delivered an engrossing experience capped with strong acting. Starring Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush. Universal, $14.98, 4/27/2010.
