1. The Matrix Reloaded [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It may not pack the innovative punch of its predecessor, but The Matrix Reloaded creates a powerful flick on its own. Inconsistent but ultimately satisfying, it leaves me wanting more and anxious for the final chapter in the trilogy. The Blu-ray presents very good picture and sound plus a broad, informative set of supplements. It’s unquestionably the be

2. The Matrix [Blu-Ray] (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Given what a cash cow the movie is, I expect WB will eventually produce an even more super-duper deluxe release of The Matrix. As of 2010, though, this Blu-ray stands as the best of the bunch. It improves the picture and audio of the 2004 DVD, and it also includes all the extras from both the 1999 and 2004 releases; the SE dropped some of the 1999 releas

Inconsistent but ultimately satisfying, it leaves me wanting more and anxious for the final chapter in the trilogy. Starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne. Warner, $41.99, 10/30/2018.

4. The Matrix Revolutions [4k UHD] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Matrix Revolutions finishes a once-exciting series on a moderately flat note. I can’t call it a bad film, as it presents far too much good action and excitement to flop, but it lacks the humanity and depth that helped make the first movie such a success. Starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne. Warner, $41.99, 10/30/2018.

5. The Matrix Resurrections [4K UHD] (2021)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 18 years after the franchise apparently ended, The Matrix returned with a fourth chapter appropriately called Resurrections. While the movie maintains viewer interest, it feels unnecessary and fails to expand the series in a particularly inventive manner. Starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss. Warner, $49.98, 3/8/2022.

7. Suspect Zero (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a potentially fascinating topic, Suspect Zero does little to create an entertaining movie. Poorly told and generally moronic, the movie suffers from a surfeit of flaws and rarely brushes against its myriad of intriguing possibilities. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Ben Kingsley. Paramount, $29.99, 4/12/2005.

9. The Matrix [4K UHD] (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Arguably the most influential film of the 1990s, The Matrix holds up well after almost 20 years and two sequels. The 4K UHD delivers picture and audio that make the film shine better than ever. Starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne. Warner, $41.99, 5/22/2018.
