1. Goldfinger [Blu-Ray] (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not an amazing step up in quality over the 2006 Ultimate Edition DVD, the Blu-ray does provide visual improvements that make a difference. It’s not night and day, but this is such a great movie that it deserves to be seen at the highest quality, so I endorse a “replacement” purchase for fans who already have the UE. Starring Sean Connery, Gert Frob

2. Goldfinger: Ultimate Edition (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should fans who already own the 1999 Goldfinger upgrade to this “Ultimate Edition”? Definitely. It offers a few new extras, but more importantly, it presents vastly improved picture and sound. This is a much superior set. Starring Sean Connery, Gert Frobe. MGM, $89.98, 11/7/2006.

3. Never Say Never Again: Collector's Edition (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t find much to recommend from this drab Bond “adventure”, though at least this DVD gives the movie good treatment. It improves on the picture and audio of the 2000 release, and the extras add real value. Still, I can’t advise any folks other than Bond diehards to grab this sucker. Starring Sean Connery, Klaus Maria Brandauer. MGM, $19.98, 3/24/2009

4. Goldfinger (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 42 years, Goldfinger hasn't aged a day. Yes, the effects are dated, and the world of 1964 certainly looks nothing like our modern society, but the film's action and style still resonate and excite. I've avoided the phrase until now, but I can't resist: nobody does it better. Starring Sean Connery, Gert Frobe. MGM, $34.98, 10/19/1999.

5. Never Say Never Again (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I hate to slam a Bond film - especially one that stars Sean Connery - I found Never Say Never Again to provide a poor example of the genre. The whole thing feels like a cheap rip-off and it almost never gels despite the best efforts of the star ... Never Say Never Again may merit a look from curious Bond fans, but I'm glad I only rented it. I wo

6. The Name Of The Rose (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Name of the Rose sank without a trace in America but enjoyed much success elsewhere. The film definitely deserved more of an audience in the States, as it provides an erratic but generally involving and satisfying mystery. The film’s deeper philosophical bent gives it elements unusual for the genre. Starring Sean Connery, F. Murray Abraham. Warner, $

7. The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A fairly messy mish-mash of a superhero flick, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen sits as one of 2003’s bigger disappointments. Director Stephen Norrington set the bar high with his prior flick, but LXG doesn’t remotely live up to the highs of Blade. Starring Sean Connery. Fox, $29.98, 12/16/2003.

8. The Hunt for Red October [4K UHD] (1990)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though I didn’t think much of The Hunt For Red October when I first saw it in 1990, I must admit it’s slowly grown on me over the years. It crams in a lot of technical issues and conveys them concisely, and it builds to a rousing and involving climax. Starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin. Paramount, $69.99. 8/21/18.

9. Diamonds Are Forever [Blu-Ray] (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Diamonds Are Forever isn't top-notch Bond, but it's a decent effort that merits a viewing. Its lead’s apparent lack of interest makes it drag somewhat, though. Starring Sean Connery, Jill St. John. MGM, $19.98, 9/15/2015.

10. Dr. No [Blu-Ray] (1962)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should folks who already own the Ultimate Edition DVD pursue this Blu-ray? I think big-time Bond buffs will probably want to get it, but the DVD remains very satisfactory. I really like the Blu-ray, but I don’t think it improves on the UE DVD enough to be a great upgrade, especially with its $34.98 retail cost. Starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress. MGM,
