1. The Rhythm Section [Blu-Ray] (2020)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At its core, The Rhythm Section presents a potentially vivid action-revenge tale. Unfortunately, the end result seems slow and turgid, without the desired visceral impact. Starring Blake Lively, Jude Law. Paramount, $39.99, 4/28/2020.

2. A Simple Favor [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A change of pace for director Paul Feig, A Simple Favor takes him down a Hitchcockian path. Feig neatly blends suspense, comedy and drama to make this an engaging little thriller. Starring Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively. Lionsgate, $19.99, 12/18/2018

4. Green Lantern [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I’ve certainly seen worse superhero movies than Green Lantern, I’ve definitely seen many superior flicks. This one musters passable entertainment but never manages to become anything especially exciting. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture plus excellent audio and a reasonably interesting set of supplements. The Blu-ray’s a nice release for an o

7. The Great Race (1965)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie ran far too long, and it contained too little real humor.

8. Master of Disguise (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Disguise doesn’t provide a painfully bad flick, but it seems insubstantial, boring and not amusing in the least.

9. 50 First Dates (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A surprisingly sweet and charming piece, 50 First Dates falters at times, but remains mostly solid. The film melds a few genres fairly smoothly and seems amusing and likable. Starring Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore. Columbia TriStar, $28.95, 6/15/2004.

10. I Sell The Dead (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It seems like most horror films these days either go with hyperactive “scares” or banal boredom in the name of “subtlety” ala Paranormal Activity. I Sell the Dead reminds us that a middle ground exists. It’s a genre flick that doesn’t assault the senses with rapid cuts and visual gimmicks but also still finds the time to give us excitement and intrigue.
