- 251. I Sell The Dead (2008)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It seems like most horror films these days either go with hyperactive “scares” or banal boredom in the name of “subtlety” ala Paranormal Activity. I Sell the Dead reminds us that a middle ground exists. It’s a genre flick that doesn’t assault the senses with rapid cuts and visual gimmicks but also still finds the time to give us excitement and intrigue.

- 252. Super [Blu-Ray] (2011)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a story of a real-life loser who tries to redeem himself as a costumed crimefighter, Super has its moments, and a strong cast helps elevate it somewhat. Unfortunately, it attempts too much in terms of tone, as its mix of drama and comedy doesn’t mesh; that makes it unsatisfying in the end. The Blu-ray comes with very good picture and audio as well as

- 253. Amadeus: Director's Cut [Blu-Ray Book] (1984)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The film hasn’t aged a day, and it offers a lively and intriguing historical drama that brings its subjects to life with surprising energy. Starring F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hulce. Warner, $34.99, 2/10/09

- 254. Onward [Blu-Ray] (2020)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though it offers a wealth of dynamic opportunities for adventure and comedy, Onward feels oddly off-target. The movie manages moderate entertainment value but it can’t tape into its own potential to become something truly satisfying. Starring Tom Holland, Chris Pratt. Disney, $39.99, 5/19/2020.

- 255. Serial Mom: Collector's Edition (1994)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t think it’s a bad movie, but it’s too often a dull one; its laughs come too infrequently to make it more than a random success ... If you’re part of the John Waters cult, I’m sure you’ll like this disc, but I don’t know if it’ll do much for the uninitiated. Starring Kathleen Turner, Sam Waterston. Universal, $19.98, 5/6/2008.

- 256. Ocean's Twelve (2004)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While the first movie was a loose and lively romp, Ocean’s Twelve plods and meanders. With no pep to its step, the film fails to engage the audience, and it simply lacks the fun factor we demand of this kind of flick. Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts. Warner, $27.95, 4/12/2005.

- 257. Dark Shadows [Blu-Ray] (2012)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With an aimless narrative and an inconsistent tone, Dark Shadows lacks much to make it entertaining. It does boast a nice cast but the movie doesn’t know where it wants to go, so it takes the audience on a meandering ride. The Blu-ray delivers good picture and audio along with a small set of useful supplements. While I have no complaints about this Blu-r

- 258. Creature from the Black Lagoon [Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray 3D] (1954)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Creature from the Black Lagoon, we get the final classic Universal monster. The movie differs from the more psychological chills of the earlier stories, but it nonetheless offers a fun tale that's effectively rendered. Starring Richard Carlson, Julie Adams. Universal, $19.98, 6/4/2013.

- 259. Ratatouille [Blu-Ray] (2007)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Through two screenings, I kept hoping I’d embrace Ratatouille, but no breakthrough ever came. I enjoyed the film and found much to like about it, but it lacked that certain kick that would allow me to really love it ... Despite my somewhat lackluster attitude toward Ratatouille, I do like it enough to recommend it. This may not be one of my favorite Pixa

- 260. Hu$tle (2004)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Absurdly biased and mean-spirited, I don’t know how I could have liked Hu$tle under the best of circumstances. Unfortunately, this cheap and crass exploitation film also fails to become anything that vaguely resembles a competently made movie. Badly written, slow-paced and asinine, it totally mishandles a good story. Starring Tom Sizemore. Buena Vista, $
