261. The General (1927)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the best regarded silent films of all-time, The General doesn’t do a lot for me as a comedy. As an action flick, however, it proves more satisfying, and those two sides make it something unusual and enjoyable ... Silent film fans will get a kick out of this disc. Starring Buster Keaton, Marion Mack. Image, $24.99, 10/26/1999.

262. Spectre [4k Uhd] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At nearly two and a half hours, SPECTRE becomes the longest Bond film to date, and the added running time doesn’t suit it well. Though the movie shows occasional glimmers of life, it tends to feel slow and without much real excitement. Starring Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz. MGM, $69.98, 10/22/2019.

263. Sicario: Day of the Soldado [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While the first film offered a rich, dramatic tale, Sicario: Day of the Soldado falls short of its success. Although it comes with a few good action scenes, the movie lacks the drama and heft it needs to work. Starring Josh Brolin, Benecio Del Toro. Sony, $22.99, 10/2/2018.

264. Collateral [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a lot of prominent talent both in front of and behind the camera, Collateral raises expectations. For the most part, it doesn’t disappoint, as the movie becomes a lively and involving thriller. Starring Jamie Foxx, Tom Cruise. Paramount, $9.99, 12/8/2020.

265. Don King: Only In America (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its lack of substance, Don King: Only In America provides a consistently lively and entertaining piece of work.

266. Hostage [Blu-Ray] (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I can’t say I expected much from Hostage, I found the end result to provide a strong effort. It sputters at times but usually remains tight and tense. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture and sound along with a reasonably useful set of supplements. Hostage gives us an enjoyable thriller and a quality Blu-ray. Starring Bruce Willis, Kevin Pollak.

267. The House Bunny [Blu-Ray] (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Random and pointless, The House Bunny boasts a marginally clever concept but comes with no other positives. The film does little more than steal from other flicks, and it never ties together these elements in an amusing or satisfying manner. Starring Anna Faris, Colin Hanks. Sony, $14.98, 12/21/2008.

268. Tarzan II (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Occasionally the folks at Disney produce good “direct to video” efforts. Tarzan II isn’t one of them. It works better than many but that’s more of a reflection on the lackluster quality of so many of these releases. Tarzan II remains relentlessly average. Starring Harrison Chad, Brenda Grate. Disney, $29.99, 6/14/2005.

269. Oliver! [4K UHD] (1968)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If one wrote a short list of the worst ever Oscar Best Picture Winners, Oliver! demands to land on it. Even when I try to account for my general dislike of musicals, I cannot find much here to appeal to the viewer. Starring Ron Moody, Oliver Reed. Sony, $164.99, 10/12/2021.

270. Bad Moms [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though Bad Moms promises to give parents the wild Hangover treatment, the end result seems surprisingly flat and restrained. A few chuckles pop up along the way but the movie lacks real laughs. Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell. Universal, $34.98, 11/1/2016.
