71. Dazed And Confused: Criterion Collection [4K UHD] (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: What helps Dazed and Confused stand out from the crowd? Its looseness, lack of artificial emphasis on plot, and its casual humor allow it to rise above the usual genre restrictions. Starring Jason London, Rory Cochrane. Criterion, $49.95, 2/21/2023.

72. Jay & Silent Bob Reboot [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 20 years ago, Kevin Smith produced clever, insightful comedies. As shown with Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, though, he no longer seems able to do anything other than rehash the same gags over and over again. Starring Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith. Lionsgate, $21.99, 1/21/2020.

73. Buffy the Vampire Slayer [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its immense genre-busting potential, Buffy the Vampire Slayer never quite hits the mark. While it occasionally entertains, it lacks consistency and doesn’t manage to connect as well as one might hope. Starring Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry. Fox, $19.99, 10/3/2017.

74. An Evening With Kevin Smith (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A consistently intriguing and often amusing discussion of the filmmaker’s work and viewpoints...

75. Rope [Blu-Ray] (1948)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Most directors who attempt real time movies without obvious cuts would make their works unbearably stilted and pretentious. Alfred Hitchcock wasn’t “most directors”, though, so his use of unusual techniques in Rope does much to benefit the drama and little to harm it. Starring James Stewart, John Dall. Universal, $29.98, 6/4/2013.

76. Sold Out: A Threevening With Kevin Smith - Special Edition (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: You know how supposedly the even-numbered Star Trek movies are good and the odd-numbered ones are bad? Maybe Kevin Smith has the opposite trend at work. The second Evening with Kevin Smith didn’t live up to the heights of the first one, but Sold Out: A Threevening with Kevin Smith offers a nice rebound ... This is another amusing and entertaining package

77. Christmas With The Kranks (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If Santa offered me a choice between Christmas with the Kranks or a lump of coal, I’ll take the latter. Kranks completely wastes any potential it possessed and becomes nothing more than an awkward mix of slapstick and schmaltz. Starring Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis. Columbia TriStar, $28.95, 11/8/2005.

78. Monster (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A film that will likely remain best known for Charlize Theron’s Oscar triumph, Monster works well as a whole. It sputters at times and becomes a little too touchy-feely in the way it treats its main character, but the overall result seems solid. Starring Charlize Theron, Christina Ricci. Columbia TriStar, $26.96, 6/1/2004.

79. Classic Albums: John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a longtime Beatle fan, I looked forward to Classic Albums: John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. While the show entertains and offers a decent overview, it lacks the insight and depth I expect from the “Classic Albums” series ... POB is worth a look, but fans shouldn’t expect one of the series’ best efforts. Starring John Lennon, Yoko Ono. Eagle Vision USA, $

80. Four Christmases (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If anyone could tell me how a film that features Vince Vaughn and five – that’s right, five - Oscar-winning actors could be as awful as Four Christmases, I’d love to hear the explanation. Despite an interesting concept and all that talent, the movie adds up to little more than a collection of violent/gross gags with some phony relationship drama tacked o
