1. Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Live (9-DVD Set) (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One can quibble with some of the selections – and omissions – made by the Rock Hall of Fame over the decades, but I think they get it right the vast majority of the time. In addition, they bring together many of rock’s greatest stars to play on stage, a fact portrayed by the amazing lineup found across the nine discs of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Live. I

2. Halloween: Unrated Director's Cut [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Because I’ve enjoyed other remakes of horror classics, I thought the 2007 Halloween could’ve been good. However, the movie totally discards everything that made the original so enjoyable and just becomes a tedious mess. Starring Malcolm McDowell, Scout Taylor-Compton. Weinstein Company, $24.95, 10/21/2008.

4. Halloween: Unrated Collector's Edition (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t like the flick so I can’t recommend it to new viewers, but those who know they like Halloween will want to get this release. If you already own the old disc, however, this CE is worthwhile solely to get the new documentary. Everything else remains the same, so only upgrade if you really want to see the new program. 5. Halloween: Unrated Director's Cut (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Since I’ve enjoyed other remakes of horror classics, I thought the 2007 Halloween could’ve been good. However, the movie totally discards everything that made the original so enjoyable and just becomes a tedious mess ... This ends up as a strong release for a weak movie. Written & Directed by Rob Zombie. Weinstein Company, $29.95, 12/18/2007.

6. Paycheck: Special Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For those who know they like Paycheck, I think it’s worth an upgrade from the DVD. I felt disappointed with that disc’s murky visuals, so the tighter picture quality found here pleased me. The image could use a good cleaning, but it remained pretty positive otherwise. Starring Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman. Paramount, $29.99, 5/19/2009.

7. Paycheck (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not anywhere near as good as John Woo’s best flicks but also not his worst effort, Paycheck comes across as a fairly average movie. Blessed with a clever story, it generally keeps us interested, but it never takes flight and becomes anything special. Starring Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman. Paramount, $29.99, 5/18/2004.

8. Daryl Hall & John Oates - Video Collection: 7 Big Ones (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Back in the day, I used to like Hall and Oates quite a lot, so it was fun to revisit the old days via Seven Big Ones.

9. The Breakfast Club [Blu-Ray] (1985)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While The Breakfast Club lacks the relevance it boasted for me when it hit in 1985, it still has its moments. I could live without all the melodrama, but there’s enough good material here to make it interesting. The Blu-ray provides generally average picture and audio as well as some decent extras. This is a passable release but not anything special, and

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While The Breakfast Club lacks the relevance it boasted for me when it hit in 1985, it still has its moments. I could live without all the melodrama, but there’s enough good material here to make it interesting ... This isn’t a great release, but it’s acceptable and will probably be enjoyed by the flick’s fans. Written & Directed by John Hughes. Universa
