81. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Deluxe Edition [Blu-Ray] (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A big hit back in 2000, I suspect someone out there views Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas as a classic, but I can’t imagine why. Crass, unfunny and irritating, the film flops. Starring Jim Carrey, Jeffrey Tambor. Universal, $22.98, 10/17/2017.

82. Elf [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: By all rights, Elf should have been a crass one-note experience in tedium. However, the flick overcomes its inherent restrictions and turns into something charming and amusing. Much of the credit goes to a surprisingly delightful performance from Will Ferrell. Starring Will Ferrell, James Caan. New Line, $24.98, 10/28/2008.

83. Blade: Trinity - New Line Platinum Series (Unrated Version) (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After two very good movies, the franchise falls a bit flat with Blade: Trinity. Sure, the movie has its moments, but some decent action scenes aren’t enough to overcome to bizarrely quippy tone and disjointed story. Starring Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynolds. New Line, $29.95, 4/26/2005.

84. Modern Family: The Complete Second Season [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After two seasons, Modern Family continues to offer a fun comedic take on its subject. Though I think the show can be a little too sappy at times, it still delivers enough laughs and charm to succeed. The Blu-ray boasts excellent visuals, acceptable audio and a decent set of supplements. This is a good release for an entertaining series. Starring Ed O’Ne

85. Clerks [Blu-Ray] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No sane person would expect stellar visuals and sound from Clerks on Blu-ray. The disc offers an acceptable presentation of the flick, but it’s always been and always will be an ugly movie. The Blu-ray does throw one bone to fans: a previously unreleased documentary – about a different film! If you don’t own the 10th anniversary Clerks DVD, the Blu-ray i

87. Search Party [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you crave multiple shots of Thomas Middleditch’s penis, Search Party will make you happy. If you want a funny, clever, inventive comedy, go somewhere else. Starring TJ Miller, Adam Pally. Universal, $26.98, 7/5/2016.

88. Spring Break Shark Attack (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... I don’t think anything could have redeemed the disaster that is Spring Break Shark Attack. I suppose a flick like this is “critic-proof”, as people will watch it anyway. They’re only hurting themselves, as the film is so terrible that it doesn’t even succeed as a piece of enjoyably bad cinema. Starring Kathy Baker, Justin Baldoni. Paramount, $14.99,

89. House [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: House offers a somewhat different kind of scary movie, though I don’t think it becomes a successful one. The subject matter seems to be inappropriate for the light and campy treatment, and the film’s participants can’t take the material to a higher level. Starring William Katt, Kay Lenz. Arrow, $59.95, 4/11/2017.

90. Anything Else (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After a string of fairly decent flicks, Woody Allen regresses with the unfunny and unlikable Anything Else. The movie suffers from little plot and characters who annoy more than entertain. It lacks insight or depth and seems like a generally unpleasant experience. Starring Jason Biggs, Christina Ricci. Dreamworks, $26.99, 12/23/2003.
