51. Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the better Star Trek films, First Contact provides a consistently satisfying affair.

52. The Emoji Movie [4K UHD] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not the cinematic abomination many expected, The Emoji Movie never becomes an entertaining effort. It lacks real wit or cleverness, as it simply cobbles together a tiresome tale with easy jokes along the way. Starring TJ Miller, Anna Faris. Sony, $45.99, 10/24/2017.

53. The Best Of Star Trek: The Next Generation (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Does The Best of Star Trek: The Next Generation live up to its billing? Maybe. I don’t know if these are the absolute greatest episodes of the series, but all are quite good. The DVD presents mediocre visuals, solid audio, and no extras. This is a decent sampler for casual fans. Starring Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes. Paramount, $14.98, 5/12/2009.

54. Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Best Of Both Worlds [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As much as I enjoy “Best”, it becomes tough to recommend this Blu-ray. Most fans will also buy the Season Three and Four sets that will include “Best”, so that renders this disc superfluous – unless they really want to see it edited into one single show. This Blu-ray also comes with some supplements that won’t appear in the season packages. If those extr

56. Bambi II (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Some folks regard Disney’s direct to video sequels as an abomination, but I really try to go into them with an open mind, especially since some of them have been pretty entertaining. Unfortunately, Bambi II is nothing more than fodder for the DTV foes. Formulaic, predictable and trite, it never remotely lives up to the legacy of its predecessor. Starring

58. X-Men: The Last Stand [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I think X-Men: The Last Stand offers the weakest of the three films in the series, and it suffers from some unnecessary flaws. That said, it still packs enough of a comic book bunch to entertain. It’s not a great movie, but it keeps us interested despite its misfires. The Blu-ray provides solid picture and audio as well as some decent extras highlighted

60. Excalibur [Blu-Ray] (1981)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not a genuinely bad fantasy epic, Excalibur lacks consistent positives. It seems campy and over the top as well as abrupt and abbreviated; it doesn’t have enough screentime to adequately explore its legends ... [As] for the Blu-ray, it becomes easily the strongest rendition of the film to date. Although picture and audio show their age, they’re usu
