111. Friday The 13th, Part 3 [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you have the SE DVD, you may want to upgrade to the Blu-ray because its 3D version works better. The visuals remain somewhat off-putting, but I thought they were clearer and less headache inducing. The Blu-ray also includes a few decent extras absent from the DVD. Unfortunately, it still provides the same terrible movie; Blu-ray can’t fix bad filmmaki

112. Space Jam [Blu-Ray] (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Neither an embarrassment nor a treasure, Space Jam occasionally provides some entertaining moments, and it largely maintains the viewer’s interest throughout its brief running time. However, it never grabs the audience’s attention strongly, and it fails to remotely approach to live up to its potential. The Blu-ray presents very good picture and audio alo

113. The Ox-Bow Incident: Studio Classics (1943)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A pioneering western, The Ox-Bow Incident offers a rich and dark examination of frontier “justice”. It gives us a good psychological portrait of the mob mentality and comes across as taut and compelling. Starring Henry Fonda. Fox, $19.98, 11/4/2003.

114. Creature from the Black Lagoon [4K UHD] (1954)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Creature from the Black Lagoon, we get the final classic Universal monster. The movie differs from the more psychological chills of the earlier stories, but it nonetheless offers a fun tale that becomes effectively rendered. Starring Richard Carlson, Julie Adams. Universal, $79.98, 10/11/2022.

115. Friday The 13th, Part 4: The Final Chapter - Deluxe Edition (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A film that totally failed to fulfill its title’s promise, Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter also fell short of any other distinctiveness. It did little more than rehash the same story, as it tossed out characters and situations an awful lot like those of the first three movies ... I’m not fond of the flick itself, but this is a good upgrade for Friday

116. Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project (Collector's Edition) (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the few remaining links to the glory days of Las Vegas, Don Rickles is still going strong in his eighties. We get a fond and entertaining look at the comedian in Mr. Warmth, a somewhat inconsistent but usually enjoyable documentary ... This isn’t a great DVD by technical standards, but it’s a good program that earns my recommendation. Starring Don

117. Lakeview Terrace (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Lakeview Terrace wants to provide commentary on American race relations within the framework of a thriller. Unfortunately, it never decides which way to go; its “jack of all trades” tendencies leave it as satisfying in no direction ... Nothing stands out here as memorable, and the movie itself turns into a muddled dud. Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick

118. Blackhat: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite some potential thrills, Blackhat fails to find a groove. Slow and plodding, the movie lacks even basic intrigue or excitement. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis. Arrow, $39.95, 11/28/23.

119. A History Of Violence: New Line Platinum Series (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A History of Violence may be one of those movies that impresses more on subsequent viewings. For my first screening, I thought the film had interesting moments but failed to coalesce into anything memorable. Although I reserve the right to change my mind, that’s how I feel at first blush ... There’s enough quality work here to merit my recommendation of

120. In Old Chicago: Fox Studio Classics (1938)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I must admit some mixed feelings toward In Old Chicago. On one hand, I liked it more than I expected, mostly because I so strongly disliked Alexander’s Ragtime Band, and also because of some good performances. On the other hand, the movie suffers from erratic storytelling and some awkward components. It adds up to a watchable movie but not a special one.
